HOLIDAY HOURS Because of the Labor Day holiday, the Cybernet Medical offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th. This closure includes our MedStar Support phone lines. Online help will continue to be available, and our technical support number will still be accepting support messages, but any support requests left via these channels will not be responded to until normal support hours resume on Tuesday, September 8th. Thanks for your patience, and have a happy holiday!
ONC OFFERS FUNDING FOR HEALTH IT EXTENSION CENTERS The federal government plans to distribute nearly $600 million in grants to help build a national network of health information technology training centers, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) recently announced. According to ONC senior adviser Farzad Mostashari, grants of $8.5 million to $9 million will be awarded to not-for-profit organizations to create 70 regional health IT extension centers nationwide. Another $50 million will go to the National Health IT Research Center, which will serve as a resource for the regional centers. The extension centers will provide health IT education, outreach and resources on best practices, beginning with healthcare providers and group practices of 10 or fewer physicians. Each extension center will also train roughly 1,500 physicians on electronic health record adoption and help 100,000 primary care providers demonstrate meaningful use of health IT. CYBERNET MEDICAL FINANCING OPTIONS The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act appropriates $19.2 billion dollars to encourage the adoption of electronic health records as part of its incentives for health IT adoption. The packages offered are sufficient to completely pay for conversion to electronic medical record systems in many cases. However, since most of the payout incentives require existing use of such systems, there is still a need to invest up front to take advantage of the program -- and this presents a difficulty to many organizations in the current economy. To help solve this problem, Cybernet Medical has teamed up with Fidelity Capital to offer financing options for purchases of our MedStar monitoring packages and kiosks. Additionally, Cybernet Medical is now offering our MedStar Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system as a standalone service option, to assist organizations that do not require a complete system to take advantage of the stimulus package. Company branding options are also available upon request. If you are interested in discussing how Cybernet Medical can help you take advantage of this program, please contact us at:
