1.
Major Features Added
We
have recently performed a major update to the MedStar
Web
System. Below are details on the items that were not
detailed
in last month's newsletter -- complete details on all
of these
items are available online at:
http://www.cybernetmedical.com/news/newsletter01-05.html
2.
"Staff" Users
New
to the v2.50 release of the website is a Staff user.
This
new type of user allows for a Nurse, Care Giver or
Call Center
personnel to access the website and view any patient
within their
designated location.
This
login looks and behaves exactly like the provider
login with the exception of how patients are
assiged to this user. Using
the new Locations (as described in the January
newsletter), Staff
users and patients are assigned to the designated
location, where
caregivers and nursing staff are assigned to take
care of them.
Staff members can:
- Enroll
new patients, only into their location
- Assign / Return devices to / from patients
- Assign and reassign providers to patients
- Generate reports on desired patients
- Change procedure information
- Deactivate patients as care needs change
- Set up default procedure monitoring parameters
to make
enrollment easier
- View patient data and information
- View / clear alert notifications
All
other functions normally associated with the
providers login, without the need for specific
designation on the patients profile
page, as the provider is required.
More
relevant information on this topic can be found
in the January newsletter, which is archived
at:
http://www.cybernetmedical.com/news/newsletter01-05.html
3.
Instant Alerts to Out of Limit Readings
A
new feature has been added to the Cybernet Medical
system that
allows you to set up alerts to be immediately sent
to the proper
care provider.
These
instant alerts have been added to the system to transmit
Out of Limit readings to designated individuals. From
the
administrators login select TASKS - (Add) ALERTS. This
new page
gives you the ability to manage how, when and where
Out of Limit
notifications will be transmitted. You can set multiple
points
or a single point where these alerts are transmitted,
based on
the time of day and who is responsible for handling
those alerts
and determining if immediate care is necessary. By
setting a
default instance, anytime that isn't specifically covered
by
another individual entry is sent to the default one,
allowing
you to have a backup or final instance where alerts
are sent.
These
alerts are designated by locations. This allows you
to have different sites containing different staff
members
responsible for their own patients.
4.
Devices
The
Cybernet Medical system has been updated to make
managing
your devices easier. The way that devices move within
the system
has been altered -- instead of assigning devices from
your
location to the provider, then to the patient, and
back again,
devices now only belong to the designated location.
Staff,
providers and administrators will be able to assign
any device in the same location as the patient. When
devices are
returned they are returned to the location they were
checked out
from so they can be used again within that same area
for another
patient.
This
was done because we have seen that the home care
and nursing staff are the ones actually assigning
and inventoring devices,
not the providers who are only prescribing devices.
5. Let's Hear From You!
