HEALTH INFORMATION PRIVACY & SECURITY WEEK

This year's Health Information Privacy & Security Week is from April 9th-15th this year, and is meant to promote awareness of your medical data privacy and security issues. Are you HIPAA compliant, and if not do you have a plan to be?

WEBSITE UPDATE (PATIENT ALERTS)

We have recently added a new feature to the Medical Website to allow managers the capability to view the patient alerts table previously only available to Staff and Health Care Providers. This table will give the manager the same view of Out Of Compliance, Out Of Limit or Patients Pending Review that the other users in the system have.

To view this page simply select the ALERTS link from the top menu. If authorized, you can select to show patients from any of your responsible locations or it will default to your listing of patients. This page will allow you to more efficiently manage your patient care.

SPRING FORWARD YOUR MEDSTAR PERIPHERALS!

Daylight Savings Time begins in the U.S. at 2am April 2nd, and while you don't need to do anything to your MedStar units, you may need to reset the clocks in some of your peripheral devices to reflect the time change.

So please remember to check the time on your peripherals that keep it on Sunday, April 2nd! In most cases, these peripherals are your Blood Pressure Monitors, Glucose Meters, Pulse Oximeters and Spirometers.
